The face fun of FLISSart Caricatures for me when I was at the State Fair. I was about nine years old and vividly recall the fascination I had when I noticed this guy drawing big heads on little bodies and everybody was laughing. The images looked just like the people he was drawing. Ater that I began studying and copying editorial cartoons , comic books and, of course, the amazing caricatures in Mad magazine. I've always had a deep appreciation for the visual arts which resulted in a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. After graduation I had an opportunity to contribute cartoons and illustrations for two weekly newspapers, the Shepherd Express and Community News. I also had several cartoons published in the Milwaukee Journal. This was also the time when I began drawing caricatures at parties and events. Among the many commissions I recieved was a three year caricature project for a major downtown restaurant.
I've been with the greatest most tolerant woman on the planet since 1986. Our two children are amazing. FLISS-FACING is fun because I have the them to inspire me. |
